One of three founders of EXCEL, Inc.  Served as Executive Director, Vice-President, Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of Florida’s successful citizens’ initiative petition campaign which gathered over 500,000 signatures and directed the 1986 general election effort which amended the constitution of Florida to authorize the State lottery.

Chief Cabinet Aide duties included: Serving as chief policy advisor to the Commissioner of Education; responsible for the supervision and oversight of six (6) agencies of the executive branch of government; legislative liaison responsibilities.

As the Information Officer for the Department of Education, duties included: Serving as spokesperson to the news media, both printed and electronic; coordinating the dissemination of information internally and among Florida school districts, universities and community colleges.

Supervised staff of ten (10) persons including high-level senior management employees, as well as mid-level career service employees.
